Having my work judged by an amazing bladesmith like O'Malley really pushed me to do my best, and try new things to set myself apart. I brought just about every knife I made after April of 2016 to him, an he told me what I could be doing better, and called me out when I cut corners. Daniel is the owner and operator of Blade Gallery, a local knife store right outside of Seattle, and I was lucky enough to have him as a resource to critique my work.

Salem taught me how to design, and forge knives, as well as how to make damascus, or pattern weld steel. He has also answered hundreds of my questions, and shared many tips and tricks for knife making. Spending that amount of time making, I really grew, and during the spring of 2016 I met two people who taught me and inspired my journey, Salem Straub, and Daniel O' Malley. After that I really dove into knife making, and went from spending a few hours a month, to 20-30 hours a week at it. Eventually in early 2016 I heat treated my first blade, and finished out my first usable knife. I always enjoyed what I did, and it slowly grew on me. I didn't seem to learn much in that first year, I rushed through my projects, and accepted sub par results because of it.

I spent a year watching hundreds of hours of youtube videos on how to make knives. I started off my journey into knife making as a 13 year old, with little to no knowledge of metal working, living in a suburb of Seattle. I am currently a full time craftsman, and believe God had given me this platform to share the gospel and to be able to love, serve and encourage others well. I am a 22 year old bladesmith and Youtuber, more importantly than that I am saved by the grace of God through what Christ did on the cross.
